Zoning Board of Appeals

Meetings are held at 6:00 pm on the first Thursday of the month (unless otherwise noted) in the Township Board Meeting Room at 9955 N. Haggerty Road. The submission deadline for application is BY NOON on the Wednesday four weeks prior to the meeting date. See the Application Procedure for the Zoning Board of Appeals by clicking here.

The cost for residential application is $200.00.
The cost for commercial/industrial application is $350.00.

Duties

The Zoning Board of Appeals shall act upon all questions as they may arise in the administration of the Zoning Ordinance, including the interpretation of the zoning maps. The scope of such duties shall not take precedence over or impinge upon the manner of administering and enforcing the Zoning Ordinance as set forth in the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance or with the powers and duties reposited with the Planning Commission, the Department of Building and Code Enforcement and the Board of Trustees.

The Zoning Board of Appeals shall hear and decide appeals from and review any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official of the Department of Building and Code Enforcement charged with enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance.- The Zoning Board of Appeals shall hear and decide all matters referred to it or upon which it is required to pass by the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance.
