The Solid Waste Department coordinates residential waste, recycling and yard
waste collection for over 8000 residential locations in the Township. Many of
our apartment buildings and condominiums do not participate in the
Township-coordinated program, however, we do keep track of who handles their
waste collection.
The department can also answer questions concerning your collection, and give
ideas/alternatives for disposal of hazardous wastes. We maintain records of
complaints and waste volumes; order recycling containers to be delivered to new
construction and keep a supply of recycling containers available for existing
homes. To help foster the department’s mission statement we will continue to
provide educational materials to our residents and businesses that express the
need to reduce our waste volumes and offer opportunities and suggestions that
support this effort, including our annual Household Hazardous Waste Day which is
normally held during the third week of May.
Additionally, the department reviews commercial waste hauler
license applications. Once approved, a listing of each receptacle/dumpster
location is entered into a database. The licensing process aids the township in
identifying any haulers who may not adhere to the requirements of our solid
waste ordinance and resolving any problems as swiftly as possible.
Location
The Division of Public Services is located at 9955 N. Haggerty Road.
Hours
Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Mission Statement
