3. Approval of minutes for the April 11, 2005 meeting
Moved by Mr. Cook, supported by Mr. Grutza, to approve the minutes of the
April 11, 2005, meeting as presented.
Ayes all.
Moved by Mr. Barone, seconded by Mr. Nahra, to amend the agenda for the Regular
Meeting of Monday, May 9, 2005, by changing Item B, Update and Status of Ann
Arbor Road Streetscape Project, to Item C, and adding Review and Support of
Recommendation for the Plans for the Shell Station at 39621 Ann Arbor Road as
Item B.

A. Approval of Invoices
Moved by Mr. Cook, supported by Mr. Grutza, to approve payment of the invoices
presented in the amount of $62,382.58.

B. Review and Support of Recommendation for the
Plans for the
Shell Station at 39621 Ann
Arbor Road.
Authority members reviewed the plans for rebuilding the station, located on Ann
Arbor Road between I-275 and Tavistock, and felt the prospective improvements
would be an asset to the Ann Arbor Road Corridor.
C. Update and Status of Ann Arbor Road
Streetscape Project
- Terry Croad, McKenna &
Associates
Terry Croad introduced Ted Hicks from Motor City Electric, Detroit, contractor
for the streetscape electrical installation, and Joe Faron, the sub-contractor
representing the manufacturer of the light fixtures, Valmont.
Mr. Faron reviewed the differences in the Valmont fixture and the fixture
originally approved. He indicated there is a 7-year warranty on the ballasts and
there is no difference in strength of the Valmont pole compared to the original.
He also said there would be no problem with availability of the fixtures in the
future.
The Board also requested information from Mr. Faron regarding maximum sizes for
possible banner installation in the future.
Mr. Hicks noted there would be 38 single fixtures installed and 10 double
fixtures. Mr. Reaume agreed to work with Mr. Hicks and the Fire Department in
getting addresses for the light boxes.
Moved by Cooke, supported by Mr. Nahra, to accept the Valmont-style pedestal
light pole as presented by Mr. Faron for the initial phase of the DDA
improvements in the Ann Arbor Road Corridor.

Mr. Croad presented drawings and plans for traffic signals and possible street
signs.
Moved by Mr. Cook, supported by Mr. Barone, to recommend to McKenna Associations
the selection of the street signs with the Plymouth Township logo.
Ayes all.
Mr. Croad also updated the Board on progress made regarding the K-Mart sign and
Bally’s landscaping.
Mr. Reaume presented drawings and updated the group on plans for the
Haggerty/Ann Arbor Road area.

meeting.
