3. Approval of minutes for the July 11, 2005, meeting
Moved by Mr. Kolb, supported by Mrs. Ludtke, to approve the minutes of July 11,
2005, meeting as presented.
Ayes all, with Mr. Cook and Mr. Grutza absent.
4. Old Business
Mr. Reaume discussed with members the misunderstanding that the MDOT $4,000
quote included all the way from Eckles to Haggerty. It just included from the
expressway to Haggerty, and only the areas they disturbed. Mr. Reaume said he
was told it would cost $38,000, with the Township paying between $9000 and
$9750, to install sod from I-275 to Haggerty Road and only certain areas in
front of CVS.
He said he understood there was not that much disturbance on the east side from
the Shell station and Dunkin’ Donuts to Eckles Road and hydro-seeding will just
be done there.
Mr. Reaume asked Mr. Hay to check on the areas where the planting beds come
within two inches of the verge or the sidewalk, making that small area difficult
to maintain.
Mr. Kolb again expressed the need for business owners to have a contact person
in case of problems.
Mr. Reaume said the project would eventually be turned over to the DDA and Mr.
Anulewicz and Mr. Hollis from the Department of Public Service have been
instructed to begin preparing RFP’s for the contracting of maintenance.
Moved by Mr. Kasperski, supported by Mr. Barone, to authorize the expenditure of
up to $10,000 for sodding the area between the curb and sidewalk (approximately
7,000 square yards) from I-275 west to Haggerty Road. This motion supercedes the
motion authorizing the expenditure of up to $4,000 for this purpose made at the
last meeting, July 11, 2005.
Ayes all, with Mr. Cook absent.
5. New Business
A. Update and Status of Ann Arbor Road
Streetscape Project
Terry Croad, McKenna &
Associates.
Mr. Dean Hay of McKenna Associates reviewed with members the Ann Arbor Road
Streetscape Status Report from Terry Croad.
Mrs. Ludtke stressed the importance of separating the financial obligation for
mowing in the RFP, prior to making an informed decision on agreeing to mow the
area. She also asked for a projection of income in comparison to expenses for
the next year.
Mr. Cook arrived at 4:25 p.m.
B. Approval of Invoices.
Moved by Mr. Grutza, supported by Mr. Cook, to approve payment of the invoices
presented in the amount of $4,671.75.
Ayes all.
6. Public Comment – There was none.
7. Adjournment
Moved by Mr. Cook, supported by Mrs. Ludtke, to adjourn the
meeting.
Ayes all.
