Moved by Commissioner Davis, supported by Commissioner Arnold to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 18, 2002, as amended.  Motion carried.

2. Work Session Minutes – October 2, 2002

Moved by Commissioner Davis, supported by Commissioner Arnold to approve the Work Session Minutes of October 2, 2002, as submitted.
Motion carried.

3. Special Meeting – October 9, 2002.  No action taken.

The Public Hearing opened at 7:14 pm:

Alvin Gorman, 9460 Sheldon Road: Had general concerns with effect of the new zoning district on existing businesses in the district.

Four residents did not understand the purpose of the public hearing and were concerned with rumors of condemnation in the area.

Letter received from David Schaff, 1361 Hartsough, titleholder to 9429 Main St, in favor of the rezoning.

There being no further comment, the Public Hearing was closed at 7:23 p.m.

It was moved by Commissioner Bridgman and supported by Commissioner Davis to recommend approval of Rezoning to OS-ARC, Office Service – Ann Arbor Road Corridor. Motion carried.

ITEM NO. 5 -- OLD BUSINESS

Moved by Commissioner Bridgman, supported by Commissioner Karell, to approve Use Subject to Special Conditions for Application 1697/0901 subject to meeting the conditions in the report from McKenna Associates, dated October 10, 2002, items 1-8, with item number 4 being amended to address the width of the access drive during site plan review.  Motion carried.

1. Meeting the conditions in the report from McKenna Associates, dated October 9,
    2002,
2. Even planting of street trees allowed over a period of two (2) years, and
3. A performance bond being provided by the applicant for all proposed landscape
    improvements. Motion carried.

ITEM NO. 7 -- ANN ARBOR ROAD SIGN REQUESTS

1. Bennigans

Moved by Commissioner Davis, and supported by Commissioner Pratt, to approve the sign meeting ARC off-premise directional sign criteria with recorded easement for all parcels being submitted to the Township prior to issuance of a sign permit.

ITEM NO. 8 -- OTHER PLANNING COMMISSION BUSINESS

1. Review of Zoning Ordinance No. 83.

The Commission agreed to meet for a Work Session on Wednesday, October 30, 2002, 7 p.m.
