The Planning Director, in conjunction with the Planning Commission, is responsible for the current and long-range planning and zoning of the community. The Township strives to provide accurate information and advance development proposals in an efficient manner. The Planning Director is available to assist residents, businesses, and developers regarding development review procedures and Zoning Ordinance requirements. Core functions include:
- Reviewing site plans and other development-related requests for compliance with the Zoning Ordinance.
- Coordinating with the Planning Commission to prepare and maintain the Master Plan for Land Use, which reflects the long-term vision and guides the physical development of the community.
- Providing technical assistance to the Planning Commission and the Board of Trustees.
- Responding to questions regarding the use and development of property.
The Planning Director also supports the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) by overseeing improvement projects and maintenance within the Ann Arbor Road Corridor.
